Perhaps mankind is for the first time in a situation where all signs of eternity as an idea of the immutability of the universe are slowly ceasing to exist. We are devastating the environment by consuming needed resources on an unprecedented scale. We are cutting down whole gigantic tracts of landscape that have existed for millions of years. The three-channel video plays back shots of the Amazon jungle from the water at a slightly hypnotic pace. The video material for the work based on the altar composition was recorded in the Ecuadorian rainforest.
