The original meaning of the tattoo was ritual. Many tattoos serve as a rite of passage, a sign of status, rank, a religious symbol and religious piety, sexual bait and signs of fertility, the promise of love, an amulet and talisman. They can be a record of wishes and desires or unfulfilled love. The skin torso was created from the mapping of my body and is a slightly sarcastic commentary on the sentimental and magical procedures associated with the recording of the desires on the surface of the body.
