Sarcophagus

Arsenal Gallery, Bialystok, Poland, 1999
sponge, sound of human breathing, almond scent
380 x 200 x 140 cm

The inside of the karst cave of ‘other’ landscape is a beginning to return to the past or vice versa, heading towards large unrealities. This wormhole is seizing the stranger with windows to other dimensions, like the cabin of teleportation. The light, the smell and sound were hidden amongst the space of material. The isolation of the secret place is supposed to ensure the peculiarity of experience but at the same time the swollen form, like the hernia of reality, nowhere belongs to current world of neither the interior, nor the exterior. Proud name - sarcophagus - is immobilizing here the present time forever.
